At Glenfield Nursery School, all learning activities are designed to help each child reach their full potential, helping them to prepare for their primary school education with confidence, life skills, social skills and the ability to listen and learn.

Children are able to take part in a wide variety of learning activities including English - letters and sounds activities, Dance and Drama, French and Music. All these subjects are taught by professional, qualified teachers.

At Glenfield Nursery School, we will ensure that:

  • Children have the opportunity to develop their self-confidence, self-esteem and independence
  • Children's social skills are encouraged so that they develop a caring attitude towards others
  • Children have the opportunity to express themselves freely and with creativity and imagination
  • Children have the opportunity to investigate the world around them and are encouraged to ask questions, make comments and seek answers
  • Children develop their physical skills through playing and learning
  • All staff will encourage interaction and communication amongst the children and will care for the individual needs of every child within the nursery
  • All staff record the progress and development of each individual child and plan for their next steps. This information will be shared with parents
  • All staff are kept up to date with training and development opportunities so as to enhance skills and knowledge within the workplace
